Founded in 1975 by Grupo BMG, BRASFRIGO began its participation in the industrial food market in the 1990s, through the production of third party brands (own brands). In 1994, it launched the brand Twist, for the canned corn segment, which was a landmark for the company.

Today, BRASFRIGO is the second largest national producer of corn and the fourth largest producer of tomatoes, thanks to the supply provided by its eight farms, which together cover an area greater than 8,000 hectares. Its products are distributed among categories like canned vegetables, tomato paste, sauces, broths, soups, mayonnaise, ketchup and mustard.

Some of the largest retail and wholesale chains like Carrefour, Wal-Mart and the Pão de Açúcar Group produce their own brand product with BRASFRIGO.

Besides the Brazilian market, BRASFRIGO sells its products in Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay, Venezuela and African countries (Angola, Morocco, Senegal and Mauritania).
